Tony Papa - Director
"Learning the craft properly at grass roots has always instilled a passion for food along with influential legends that we had in the mid 1980s."
Tony has always had a passion for good food following his upbringing that was based around Yorkshire classics and Italian influences from his respective parents. An excellent College Training in the North of England led to inroads and connections in the South with stints on the coast in five star hotels and then on to London where he spent ten years working in four/ five star boutique hotels and restaurants accredited by the AA and up to Michelin standard.
Whilst in London, Tony was trained with French Classical Influences and then later with the Modern British Classics. He was always keen to get involved in Competitions and Culinary Events and spent time travelling through Europe looking into new and exciting culinary concepts and increasing his knowledge of business awareness in this sector.
Having moved back "up North" to settle with his expanding family he had short stints in development with leading market forces and also took a position in a multi national hotel company developing into a Regional Executive Chef role installing ideas that would be rolled out throughout the group on all menu types, sourcing new products and laying foundations for sound budget control.
Since 2000 Tony has been working in Chef Recruitment, starting from grass roots level learning the correct basics through leading seminars and course foundations and has always been a part of the Recruitment Employment Federation that adheres to a strict code of practice.
All in all Tony is a family man with strong morals and a good sense of purpose, honesty and integrity have been a key part of his success. He enjoys spending his spare time with his wife and three children, taking part in and observing sports and getting out into the fresh air as much as possible.
Amanda Bell - Accounts Director
After leaving school Amanda went straight into working at an accounts office whilst studying for her Pitman accounts exams on day release. Having achieved her qualifications she joined a catering and hospitality recruitment agency to process the payroll and produce the invoices. In this role she quickly went from strength to strength paying up to four hundred workers weekly.
Since setting up Chef Results with Tony Amanda has now taken on the duties of the company and management accounts along with the payroll and invoicing process. Responsible for the VAT return and PAYE each month she also now has full credit control on both temporary and permanent invoices. This enables her to liaise frequently with clients cementing strong working relationships started with the consultants.
Working three days a week she spends her spare time walking a lot having four gundogs which she also shows all over the country. Having already owned three English Pointers; Amanda has now branched into trying to keep up with Tony’s Italian influence and got a Bracco Italiano (Italian Pointer).
Sean Bosley - Chef Consultant
Sean has his grass roots in the South where his great passion for the catering industry started when he was working as a KP in a small gastro pub in Berkshire and found himself inspired by cooking. After finishing college he kick started his cooking career in a three red star, three AA rosette property staying for six years before indulging in the Michelin market including a stint at Harvery’s with Marco Pierre-White and Gordon Ramsay, and then he moved onto country house and five star hotels.
Sean aimed to experience all areas of catering and so decided to spend eight years working in Europe in holiday resort hotels, where he met his wife. They decided to settle down and start their family after which Sean moved into contract catering, small restaurants and running gastro pubs for the rich and famous.
Following a decision to move North and after gaining AA Rosettes in various establishments he looked at the recruitment side of catering meeting the rest of the team in the process. Sean has found that he loves this side of the industry and hopes he can give back some of his experience to candidates old and new in order to continue to make the catering industry a worthwhile choice of career. He still uses his skills today, regularly cooking at the weekends for outside catering events and a large banqueting centre.
Chris Gill - Chef Consultant
Growing up in a seaside resort in Norfolk offered plenty of opportunity to work in large hotels which is where Chris had his first taste of working in kitchens washing burnt pots and pans at weekends. Numerous hours of peeling carrots and rumbling spuds didn’t put him off and so the natural progression on leaving school was to enrol full time at college where he spent three years gaining excellent training in both the classics and modern techniques whilst still working in the leading four star hotel in the area.
On leaving college various spells in award winning restaurants and hotels followed in different areas, learning intently form talented chefs of all backgrounds including how to motivate staff and the importance of man management skills and the benefits of a happy kitchen!
After moving North and settling in Sheffield Chris decided to experience some other styles of establishments to gain a better overall understanding of being a chef and so stints followed working in a casino, country leisure club, delicatessen, gastro pub and contract catering followed as well as spending several years as head chef in a rosette winning hotel.
Joining the team at Chef Results is fantastic as is talking to candidates and clients who have the same passions and experiences as yourself. I feel that the knowledge that you may be able to help someone on their career path and maybe even find them their dream job is very rewarding.
Out of work Chris enjoys spending time with his family, and with three young daughters he gets very little time to himself!
Beth Fenton (Previously Austin) - Branch Manager
Beth started working in hospitality recruitment after finishing her degree, initially starting in temporary recruitment before transferring to permanent recruitment and starting the enormous task of trying to organise Tony! Having progressed quickly she then started to carry out permanent recruitment for Front of House positions successfully working with hotels, restaurants and gastro pubs across the country.
When Amanda and Tony set up Chef Results they persuaded her to come back to the interesting world of chefs. At present she has an all encompassing job role which includes supporting Tony, Sean and Chris wherever necessary; collating all of the figures; being a point of contact for candidates and clients; taking control of all of the job advertising; registration of temporary workers and deputising for Amanda when she is on her days off or on holiday.
Beth enjoys playing netball weekly and generally enjoys spending her weekends going out for meals and meeting up with friends scattered across the country she is also a big fan of live music attending as many gigs as possible.
