Chef Results are pleased to welcome Chris Gill to the team in the office.
Chris has joined as a Chef Consultant and will be responsible for the North West region which has been growing steadily this year. Chris will be working hard to ensure that this area continues to develop further in order to provide our candidates and clients in the region with an in depth service.
Like Tony and Sean, Chris has been working as a chef for twenty years and has been Head Chef in a variety of different establishments from hotels to his most recent position in a high quality delicatessen that also provided outside catering.
Sean Bosley carried out a day cooking in the kitchen at the Wentworth Club during the PGA Championship held there from 21st to 24th May 2009.
Sean was asked by Steve Tonkin, Executive Head Chef at the Wentworth Club, to assist with one of their busiest events of the year after he helped them successfully at the same event in 2008. Sean feels that the time spent in the kitchen helps him to understand how the kitchen at the property functions and as a result he is able to match candidates to any vacancies they may have successfully as well as being able to really sell the benefits associated with working at the venue to candidates.
Chef Results continue to support the chefs of the future by hosting an evening at Tankersley Manor for local college lecturers.
Tony Papa and Sean Bosley recently spent an evening hosting a dinner at the Q Hotel Tankerlsey Manor to hi-light the opportunities that recently graduated Commis Chefs can gain from working in a corporate environment. The evening was attended by college lecturers who were able to speak to the General Manager, Christophe Gitton and the Head Chef, Les Allen about the training and development that a Commis Chef could receive. The evening also allowed Tankerlsey Manor to showcase the high standards in place at the property and the variety of cooking involved with working in a large hotel.
It is hoped that by speaking to lecturers they will be able to communicate with the students that there are plenty of different options available to them once they graduate. At Chef Results we hope to help more students find the right type of position for them as we believe this will result in more young chefs staying in the industry for longer.
Following the evening at Tankersley Manor we have arranged for a number of students to gain work experience at the property in order for them to understand the kitchen environment within a large, multi-outlet hotel.
Tony Papa recently spent an afternoon at Doncaster College talking to the students about different options they can take in the hospitality industry once they graduate.
The idea of this visit was to discuss the different styles of properties that are available including restaurants, corporate hotels, country house hotels and gastro pubs. Chef Results also hope to help the students once they have graduated by introducing them to our network of contacts to find the right position for them. We feel this is important to make sure that young chefs stay in the industry by finding a position that can offer them training and development opportunities.
As a lot of students have never worked within a professional kitchen, Chef Results have arranged a dinner at Tankersley Manor Hotel where the students will be able to work in the kitchen alongside the brigade to get the experience of a professional kitchen. Theit lecturers will be eating the meal prepared and will be able to network with Q Hotels to discover the advantages of working with that company for newly graduated students.
Here is the feedback that Tony received from the lecturer:
Hi Tony
Many thanks for your chat with our students last Thursday. They really enjoyed it and could relate to you which was great.
They all acknowledged your industry experience and compared to other visiting lectures they were all engaged and did get a broader understanding of the Hospitality Industry.
Thanks for your time Tony, we appreciate what you did !, it's never easy talking infront of 38 students and you did it well !
Kind regards
David Jones
